The first vintage of Zinfandel was released by Liz and Frank when they decided to start their own winery, and since then it's garnered praise from around the country and world thanks to a strong following with wine enthusiasts who love tasting new vintages every year! The Vezér family has been producing award-winning wines in the Suisun Valley for more than 20 years. The family-run business is responsible for well-known brands such as Sin Zin or Ravenswood both of which rely heavily upon their luscious blackberry notes found exclusively at Vezer Family Vineyard! Their wines are some of the most popular varieties currently available from Sonoma County's Suisun Valley region-with an emphasis on Petite Sirah and Zinfandel grapes. Since their introduction to the wine industry in 2000, Frank and Liz Vezér have been on a mission for greatness. While many of these vineyards offer tours by appointment only or through special events held throughout the year such as harvest season, there are a few tasting rooms open daily for visitors who do not wish to wait. The Suisun Valley is the home of more than 25 wineries, most established during the 1990's wine boom period however, there are also a few from the mid-twentieth century that have been recently revived thanks to renewed interest in small family-owned wineries producing premium wines. The many calm days here make touring easy because there are no major hills to climb and traffic, even on weekends, moves better than in Napa. Liz said that it was a way to say “thank you for everything their extended family does.” Frank opened several wines for the workers and their families to enjoy. ![]() At the time of our visit, we were invited to attend a dinner that Liz and Frank prepared for their workers. This sense of family extends from the immediate family to relatives, workers and visitors. Wine travelers who meet family members will immediately sense the strong family attachment. Some of the grapes are pressed at this site and there are several tanks in the barrel room.Īlthough the Vezér Ranch is a private residence, there are over 15 acres of vineyards, a private tasting room for wine club members and a wonderful venue for weddings. Behind the Blue Victorian is a barrel room and surrounding the buildings are 13 acres of grapevines.
